Dr. Marc Zvi Brettler

Dr. Marc Zvi Brettler is the Bernice and Morton Lerner Professor of Jewish Studies at Duke University. He is the author of How to Read the Bible and co-founder of the website TheTorah.com, the world’s leading platform for Torah study informed by academic scholarship (widely used by rabbis, educators, academics, and lay readers from all backgrounds and denominations). Together with Amy-Jill Levine, Prof. Brettler is co-editor of The Jewish Annotated New Testament and co-author of The Bible With and Without Jesus: How Jews and Christians Read the Same Stories Differently.
