Dr. Loren Stuckenbruck (Professor of New Testament at the University of Munich) is a leading scholar of the texts of the Second Temple Period, including connections among the "New Testament," the Qumran scrolls, and Jewish apocalyptic literature generally. His many publications include: The Myth of Rebellious Angels; source publications and commentaries on 1 Enoch and the Book of Giants from Qumran; a co-edited volume entitled Evil in Second Temple Judaism and Early Christianity; and, most recently, the co-edited Encyclopedia of Second Temple Judaism. In this deep and engaging conversation with Dr. Yeshaya Gruber of the Israel Bible Center, Prof. Stuckenbruck explores the themes of good and evil, angels and demons, messianic beliefs and apocalypticism, all with reference to early Jewish and Christian texts of the first century CE.
